Holiday cottages for October half-term...

We've still a handful of holiday cottages available for a last minute break over October half term and we've picked out a few to whet your appetite. We'll post two today - check back early next week for two more.

Keep the family entertained at Ros Creek Cottage (S233) in the tiny village of St Just in Roseland, 2 miles from St Mawes in Cornwall's Med. The cottage is situated on a low ridge with commanding views over Falmouth Bay - terrific sunsets. It's freshly renovated and has a small, pretty garden with a good-sized terrace. It's £105 per person the week commencing 22nd October based on six sharing.

Up in north Cornwall, Kelly Park Cottage (P36) in St Mabyn is not far from the sandy beaches at Rock and Polzeath and the famous fishing village, Port Isaac. It's a detached cob and stone cottage at the end of a quiet no-through road with a pretty, enclosed garden. This is a comfy, homely place to stay and is £76 per person the week commencing 22nd October based on five sharing.

Last minute summer getaways...

It's not too late to book a holiday cottage for summer, we still have some super places with availability, near shimmering seas or deep in rolling countryside.

How about this 200-year old detached stone barn (sleeps 7, pictured top left) on Exmoor with superb long moorland views? It's a brilliant spot for the country lover. You can wander down the lovely footpath to the river and on into Winsford for lunch at the famous thatched pub, The Royal Oak. There's 20% discount the week commencing 28th August.

Or if you yearn for the coast, this pretty detached stone cottage (sleeps 6, pictured left) in Port Navas on Cornwall's Med has stunning views over the river Helford and there are many beaches nearby. There's a 20% discount the weeks commencing 23rd and 30th July.
